Our Late Night Dinner

These are pictures from the same day after Brenlee's birthday party. It had been a long day, but the grandparents were in town so we all went to dinner together.

After the birthday party we went to church and it was a little after 8:00 pm before we finally got to the restaurant. Dad and I were talking in the car on the way there saying "at least there won't be a wait since it is late at night", "at least we missed the dinner rush", etc. We got there and it was a 40 minute wait - what are people doing eating that late? I guess the same thing we were :)

With it being a long day and all I wasn't sure that CC's pleasant attitude was going to hold out. Fortunately it did and she was quite the trooper. There was this stuffed animal head over our table that CC was became quite fascinated with. She wanted to touch it, but when grandma lifted her up she got scared and backed away. My silly child. I love the picture of her with grandpa when we were leaving, don't they look sweet together...

Brenlee's First Birthday

Last Saturday we went to Brenlee's First Birthday party. CC was a handful to say the least, there is no doubt about her independence. She wanted to play with the toys and see people. What happened to her just wanting to be with mommy and daddy? I thought for sure I would have a shy-natured child.

Brenlee got a bunch of cool stuff and the food was AWESOME!!! Thank you to Brenlee's parents for a great party; you guys have a beautiful home. Happy Birthday Brenlee!!

Daddy Wednesday

This was taken last Daddy Wednesday. It was getting past CC's nap time and dad asked CC if she wanted to take a nap or if she wanted a quick snack. CC quickly went to the pantry door and knocked, which told dad that she wanted a snack. He proceeded to put her in her high chair and gave her some cheesie puffs and veggie crackers. He went back into the office for a few minutes to work and when he came out he found this....

...looks like she should have opted for the nap. Dad quickly scooped her up and off to bedshe went.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is here. We spent a wonderful morning in bed with coffee and CC with her milk and Fruit Loops. We opened presents from Grammy and then went to dinner with the grandparents. Below are some pictures with her new chair - she just loves it! I think it makes her feel like a big girl to have her own place to sit. And, this chair was used by Grandpa and Dad, which makes it extra special. Hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day!

CC on Valentine's Day Eve

CC's grandparents brought her over a new toy for Valentine's Day. It' that song..."Sugar Pie Honey Bun...". She loves it and dances with it in a way that it makes me and dad crack up. It is so hysterical.

Uncle Tyler and the Cupcake

I was so proud of myself - I BAKED! Okay, they were out of a box, but still I made them.

Yes, I made cupcakes for CC to take to daycare to share with the other kids. I learned two things 1) to frost the cupcakes after they cool, but not to wait too long and 2) Red Velvet stains the kids hands, mouths and clothes (how was I to know?).

Uncle Tyler came over that day and he had to share his cupcake with his beloved niece. Uncle Tyler doesn't seem to understand that after he gets her all hyped up on sugar that mommy and daddy have to contend with one hyper little baby. Not the easiest thing to do at our age...just kidding, but she does turn into a handful!!

Fun Time with Caitlynn

What's the saying, "when the cats are away...the mouse will play". The grandparents and Uncle Tyler came over last Friday to watch CC while dad and I went to bible study. As always, it's hard leaving CC. I worry a little about her - I know I shouldn't, but admittedly I do. I should have known, however, that she would have more fun than if dad and I had been home.

Grandma brought her chocolate chip cookies (homemade of course), grandpa brought CC her very own chair to sit in (one that grandpa and dad both previously used), and she coaxed them all into setting up a fort to play in. CC has it made when mom and dad go out :)

It looks she even managed to wear out Uncle Tyler with all the playing they did. Aren't grandparents and uncles the BEST?!

Date Night

For Christmas Dad got me tickets to a musical "The Pajama Game" and took me to a romantic dinner. We went to one of our favorite restaurants and had a delicious feast. They were able to use less oil in the cooking method and we even ordered one dish velvet broth cooked. This means that they cook it in broth instead of oil. We are really trying to watch his cholesterol levels and keep them down as much as possible. We had a lovely evening just the two of us.
