Milton Costa 1944 - 2011

My father in law passed away on Monday, May 9th, 2011. It was a sad day for all of us, but it helps knowing that he is in a better place with no more pain and no more fears. May you rest in peace Milton Costa…we will see you in Heaven. We love you!!

Dad 1 001

Milton John Costa, 8/26/44 – 5/9/11

Milton Costa was born in Hanford, California and lived most of his life in Paso Robles, California. Milton is survived by his wife Bonnie Costa and three sons, Brian, Sean and his wife Teri and granddaughter Caitlynn, and Tyler and his fiancé Leah. Milton passed away after a long battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on May 9th, 2011.

Milton had been a cattle rancher since 1958 and well known auctioneer. Milton enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Caitlynn, watching NASCAR with his family, antiquing and traveling. Over his life Milton achieved many awards, including being inducted into the California Auctioneers Hall of Fame, honored at the Standard of Perfection show at the California State Fair, and he exhibited the first (and only) Polled Hereford bull to win the Super Bull award at Cow Palace in San Francisco.

Milton started a successful purebred cattle operation from projects in FFA. Milton also showed purebred cattle for almost 20 years throughout the state of California and many prominent showmen at one time worked for him.

Milton served as President of the California/Nevada Polled Hereford Association from 1989 through 1997. He took a withering state breed association and breathed new life into it, by his strong leadership and innovative ideas. Because of his efforts and ideas, CNPHA has evolved into one of the biggest and most progressive state Hereford breed associations in America.

Milton owned and managed the Central Coast Auction, farm and construction company, in Paso Robles from 1976 until 2000. Through this time he started an antique and draft horse auction throughout the state of California; later bringing his auctions to the state of Idaho.

Milton finished his cattle career in Midvale, Idaho in 2010 before retiring to Nampa, Idaho with his wife Bonnie.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that any donations be made payable to the CNPHA 8500 Rock Springs Road, Penryn, CA 95663 for the Milton Costa Scholarship Fund or the American Cancer Society for prostate cancer research.

2 Corinthians 1:3–4
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. (NLT)

1 Thessalonians 4:13–14
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. (NLT)

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. (NLT)
